Wilma Steigerwaldt, age 91, passed away at Sacred Heart Hospital on June 28, 2015 under the care of Ministry Hospice. Wilma was born on June 3rd, 1924 in Johnsonville, TN the eleventh child of Marcus and Lurittie Reed. She was a 1942 graduate from Central High School in Knoxville, TN. While working as a clerk during World War II in Washington D.C. for the Federal Housing Administration, she met Ed Steigerwaldt at a dance in Fort Belvoir, VA. They were married on November 23, 1944 at Christ Lutheran Church in Washington, DC. In 1947, Ed & Wilma moved to Tomahawk where they would start their family. Together, they had four sons. Wilma was a proud homemaker and enjoyed bringing up her family on Lake Clara. She is a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Her deepest values are rooted in knowing God and Jesus Christ. Wilma volunteered for the St. Paul's Ladies Aid and the Tomahawk Historical Society. Wilma is survived by, 4 sons; Ed (Mary Lee) Steigerwaldt of Tomahawk Bob (Karen) Steigerwaldt of Tomahawk Bill (Sandy) Steigerwaldt of Tomahawk John (Shari) Steigerwaldt of Cotapaxi, CO 7 Grandchildren; Lee (Todd Frederickson) Steigerwaldt, Julie (James Marbas) Steigerwaldt, Laura (Casey Marlak) Steigerwaldt, Marcus (Haley Heikkinen) Steigerwaldt, Tim (Ashley) Steigerwaldt, Jon Steigerwaldt and Kathy Steigerwaldt; 3 Great Grandchildren, Jenny, Edward & Greta. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward F. Steigerwaldt and grandson, William Robert Steigerwaldt. The Funeral Service for Wilma Steigerwaldt will take place at 11:00AM on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark Schoenherr will officiate. Friends may call on the family at the Krueger Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM and again on at the church on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church.
