Robert E. Hilbert, age 91, of W5894 Theisen Road, Tomahawk passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill. Bob was born on May 20, 1924 in Beaver, Wisconsin, Marinette County, to Joseph and Helen (Bucholtz) Hilbert. He was a graduate of Marinette High School in 1941. He married the love of his life, Delphine C. Caramella on June 19, 1947 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Houghton, Michigan. Del passed away on September 19, 2013. Bob and Del moved to Tomahawk in 1951. He was employed at the Owens-Illinois Paper Mill in Tomahawk retiring as assistant pulp mill Superintendent on December 31, 1986. Bob was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus Council #2066. He was also a former member of Maple Birch Golf League. Bob enjoyed woodworking, logging and ice fishing. Bob also was a wrestler and performed at local fairs in Wisconsin and Michigan. He was known as Michigan Slim and the Tomahawk Terror within certain wrestling circles. Survivors include: Two daughters, JoAnn (Richards) Bruno St. Louis, MO Mary (John) Graf Tomahawk One Son, James (Christine) Hilbert Willmar, MN Bob is further survived by three grandchildren, Katherine Volzing of Clinton, NJ; Anna (Cameron) Willard of Sauk Rapids, MN; Andrew Bruno of St. Louis, MO, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Del and two brothers. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Mary Catholic Church. Fr. Louis will officiate. Burial will take place on Thursday at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton, Michigan at 11:00EST. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
